What we offer

Every learner
is different

Richard adapts his teaching to your pace, your nerves and your goals. Here is what each type of lesson involves.

Manual driving lessons

The most flexible licence — drive any car, anywhere.

Learning in a manual gives you a full licence that covers both manual and automatic cars. Richard builds clutch control, gear changes and road sense step by step, at a pace that suits you, in a modern dual-control car. Lessons are structured around your individual progress rather than a one-size-fits-all syllabus.

  • Dual-control tuition car
  • Pickup from home, work or college
  • Progress tracked lesson by lesson
  • Mock test before the real thing

Automatic driving lessons

Focus on the road, not the gearbox.

Automatic lessons remove the clutch and gear changes so you can concentrate on observation, positioning and decision-making. They are ideal for nervous beginners, anyone who has struggled with a manual, and drivers who only ever plan to drive an automatic or electric car.

  • Same patient, structured approach
  • Great for anxious or returning drivers
  • Fewer lessons for many learners
  • Automatic-only licence on passing

Block bookings

The most popular and cost-effective way to learn.

Booking a block of lessons keeps your learning consistent and saves money against the hourly rate. Starter, Standard and Intensive packs are available, and every full course includes one free mock theory test and one free mock practical test.

  • Discounted rate per hour
  • Starter, Standard & Intensive packs

Intensive driving courses

Fast-track your licence around your schedule.

Need to pass quickly for a job, university or a move? An intensive course condenses your learning into a short period with longer, more frequent lessons. Richard plans the course around your availability and your test date, and will be honest about how many hours you realistically need.

  • Flexible daily or weekly schedule
  • Planned around your test date
  • Suits learners with some experience
  • Available in manual or automatic

Whether you passed years ago and have not driven since, have moved to the UK, or just want to feel more confident on motorways, roundabouts or in the dark, refresher lessons rebuild your skills at your own pace — with no judgement and no pressure.

  • Confidence after a break from driving

Do you teach in manual and automatic cars?

Yes. Richard teaches both manual and automatic, and will help you decide which is the right fit for your goals, confidence and budget.

How many lessons will I need to pass?

Everyone is different. The DVSA suggests the average learner needs around 45 hours of professional tuition plus private practice, but Richard tailors each lesson to your progress and will give you an honest estimate after your first lesson.

Do you offer intensive driving courses?

Where will you pick me up from?

From home, work, college or any agreed location within the service area — Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewkesbury and across Gloucestershire.

What do I need before my first lesson?

A valid UK provisional driving licence, and you must be able to read a number plate from 20 metres (with glasses or contact lenses if needed). That's it — Richard provides the car, insurance and refreshments.

Can I use your car for my driving test?

Yes. When you book your test with Richard you take it in the same car you have been learning in, and he will normally run a mock practical test beforehand.
