About Me—ADI-Qualified Driving Instructor in Cheltenham
Richard Bailey is an ADI-licensed driving instructor in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. He gives calm, patient, supportive, professional, and planned driving lessons for all levels of learners, from complete beginners to experienced drivers, hoping to build confidence.
Richard got his full license in 1982 and spent decades working on his skills across a wide variety of vehicle classes, from Class 3 lorries and articulated vehicles to coaches. He had driven for a living across the UK and the continent before turning a lifetime of road knowledge into teaching.
Richard became a driving instructor in 2015 with one clear motive: to make safer, more confident drivers. He hopes to not only assist people in passing their test but also provide them with the skills, judgement, and confidence to drive safely for life.
Teaching in a Calm & Patient Manner
Every student is different. Some children are confident from the first. Others get nervous, unsure, or pressured. Richard teaches every lesson to the individual learner’s skill, speed & goals.
He teaches carefully, honestly, and practically. The lessons have been created to build your confidence slowly but surely through clear supervision, thoughtful correction and practical driving experience.
Whether you’re a first-time student, returning to driving after a break, changing instructors or preparing for your practical test, Richard will meet you at your present level and help you move forward safely.
Trusted Experience from Richard
Richard’s background goes beyond normal test preparation, which helps the learners. With his experience of cars, trucks, motorized vehicles, and coaches, he has a wide understanding of road safety, vehicle control, observation, planning, and danger awareness.
That experience informs his teaching. But it isn’t only about passing the driving test, it’s about learning the skills you’ll need for everyday driving following the test.
